I don't have Xbox 360...
I will likely never have Xbox 360...

and so my 5 year love affair with HALO comes to an abrupt end.
(not that I've played at all since seminary ended, and especially since I got rid of my Xbox earlier this year and got a PS2 so I could play "God of War"...)

But I have so many fond memories of playing Halo and Halo 2 with my friends at WTS. In fact, our house was a living pavlov's dog experiment... On any given night, one of the four of us would turn on the Xbox and load in HALO and simply turn up the television... once the game loaded and the familiar gregorian monk singing began, it was only a matter of seconds before each of us was firmly planted in front of the television with a controller between our already perspirating palms and fingers... ahh, good times... good times.

Strange how I feel so nostalgic about those hours, and yet they often brought out the worst in all of us... nary a few minutes would pass in the middle of a two on two frag fest where one of us would not break out in a string of curses and violent beatings of our opposition (that was mostly Luke... j/k [not really...]) hehe :-)

But I suppose we've all grown up and are now all about our families and God's kingdom...

Thanks for bringing up those memories, and yes, I may have been angry once or twice during our Halo excursions, but thankfully I haven't sinned since then so I should be okay when God asks me why I should get into his heaven (wait...this isn't good pastoral counsel?!?)

A friend of mine here in Tucson just bought a 360 and Halo Tres to go along wtih his 50 inch plasma. Needless to say I am going to be ministering to him a lot in the next few weeks.

Just reading this post is making me salivate. I too miss our old Halo sessions. Every now and then I would really love to drop everything and have a few hours of Halo time. Maybe we should all take a vacation to Arizona and go to Luke's friend's house and have megafest Halo reunion of the old housemates. I'm sure his friend wouldn't mind.
